It is a question that arises itself more often than not, atheist are continuously asked of the terror accompanied with refuting the existence of god and the after life. The majority of people believe in a life that follows this very life. No man was ever able to bring forth evidence of such afterlife. Every attempt to do so was refuted with unquestionable contrary evidence. Believers -with the sense of the word belief-, must have faith in the afterlife, nothing else could assure such existence except for a feeling that merely exist only in their brains. On the other hand, Atheists don’t seem to have that problem.
The thought of death by itself is something creatures naturally fear, every animal shows the signs of fear. Fear is closely associated with the thought of losing one’s life, or the infliction of pain. Therefore if pain is imposed; a reaction is triggered out of pure pain and fear. The human body is naturally programmed to protect itself from any threat, even if that threat wasn’t necessarily valid. For example a baby cries out of pain when a doctor is conducting an ammonization. Of course the doctor meant no harm, but to the baby the pain represented a threat, therefore a cry asking for help and out of fear was the natural reaction.
