يقول يوحنا الفنكي ما معناه (مرة اخرى هذه ترجمة بسيطة سريعة من عندي):

ما ان انتهى حكم الاكاسرة في بلاد فارس حتى استولى ابناء هاجر على ما يقارب العالم بأسره، حيث اخذوا بلاد فارس كلها و تغلبوا على فرسانهم المتمرسين في فنون الحرب.

لا يجب ان نظن ان مجئيهم حدث عادي بل هو ترتيب إلهي، فقد هيئهم الله قبل ذلك بأن اوعز لهم ان يحترموا المسيحيين و صوامعهم. و حين جائوا بامر الله و انتصور على المملكتين و استولوا على الارض لم ينتصروا بعدة ولا عتاد بل وضع الله النصر بأيديهم فكان الواحد منهم يهزم الفا و الاثنان منهم يهزمون عشرة الاف. و الا فكيف تمكن العراة الرعاع من غير عتاد ان ينتصروا لولا ان الله استدعاهم من اقاصي الارض ليدمر بهم مملكة آثمة و يذل بهم الفرس؟

إنه لا يقصد هنا ان يمدح قدومهم و يستبشر به، فهذا قول يمكن ان يقوله المسلم عن المغول مثلا: فهم ايضا قوم جائوا من اقاصي الارض و دمروا حكم العباسيين و استولوا على بلاد كثيرة، و يمكن جدا ان يظن من عاصرهم من المسلمين ان الله مكن للمغول بسبب ذنوب المسلمين الخ.

حيث يضيف يوحنا الفنكي ايضا بعد فقرتين:

Against those who had not ceased in times of peace and prosperity from fighting against their creator, there was sent a barbarian people who had no pity on them.

الجملة الاخيرة تقول: اللذين لم ينتهوا عن محاربة خالقهم في وقت السلم و الرخاء سلط عليهم قوما همجاً لا يشفقون عليهم.
